The simplest way to help FreeWheels for Kids is to donate money. Your support enables us to provide more bikes, helmets and lights to more kids. Thanks in advance!
Primarily we need bikes…bikes…and more bikes! Each year we re-introduce more than 300 bikes back into the community and that number is always growing. We need bikes.
We use bikes of all sizes, from pre-K to adult. We accept bikes, parts and tools in any condition and will either use the bike as is or re-purpose it.
Unfortunately, it is difficult and time consuming for us to pick up individual donations. Luckily we have some amazing partners who will hold on to your donation until we are able to pick it up. Currently, there are three local bike shops where you can drop off your donation.
Other teaching resources.
Freewheels has a diverse teaching method and uses all sorts of teaching materials. For example, did you know that 150 pounds of modeling clay is a great resource to teach students about topography, map making and infrastructure design? Do not hesitate to ask us about donating classroom, office or outdoor resources. Even if we can’t use your donation directly we’d like to point you to a community partner who might.
YOU might also be a resource we would like to use. Your skills and time can enhance our program in the office, classroom or on the streets and we’d like to sit down with you to figure the best fit for everyone.
